South Pacific Housing : Solomon Islands
The Solomon Islands Government commissioned the preparation of a Master Plan for a neighbourhood unit of 250 residential sites, later followed by designing and supervising the construction of the total development which comprised 14 different house types.
In contrast to the traditional approach, the houses were first located on the best sites and the subdivision layout and roading pattern drawn around them.
